Mission: Make a difference
Credo: Serve with Grace

Cynthia Wadell

After 27 years in corporate America, Cynthia Wadell is following her dream to establish her own business that she has named Heavenly Hostess. Cynthia, an artist at heart, has given birth to her “Mission as a Business” company.

Cynthia creates very beautiful, glamorous hostess aprons made with satins, embellished lace and organza fabrics, including beading and specialty trims. She is also producing expertly designed cotton aprons for everyday use. “I love to cook and entertain, and have always found it odd that you could not purchase a beautiful hostess apron to wear for entertaining. I wanted the elegance and quality of the aprons that my grandmother wore with such grace during holidays and special occasions - they always looked so elegant and festive!”

In keeping with that quest, Cynthia could not find, and still can’t find, an everyday cotton apron that actually fits and is comfortable. So she designed her own. As a full figure woman, the aprons in the market place just don’t “cut it”, or should it be said, don’t “cover it”. There is not a single company making aprons with all sizes of women in mind. Many of Heavenly Hostess halter aprons are available small/medium up to Plus sizes, including Mommy & Me. All Heavenly Hostess products are proudly manufactured in Sunny California, including her fabulous signature keepsake box.

While she is new to apparel manufacturing, Cynthia began collecting vintage aprons, vintage apron patterns and beautiful fabrics years ago. Many designers and artists do not have business backgrounds, so her career in high tech distribution is serving her well.

Why Mission as a Business? As a woman of faith, Cynthia believes that it is her responsibility to use her talents to help others. She declares, “ My business is my own individual way to give back and make a difference. My primary goal is to create positive change through commerce. My company credo, Serve with Grace, is in keeping with the values and traditions imbued in me by my grandmother, family and friends.”

Cynthia’s first global project is in place, affiliated with an educational center for women in Kenya. Coordinated through a Pastor directly involved in supporting the re-development efforts there, monies made from special projects help support both the women’s center and a new elementary school. Cynthia’s goal is to give these women a few of her patterns, pay them to procure local fabrics and make the aprons, encouraging them to use their own creativity in putting them together.

Heavenly Hostess is committed to contributing and supporting charitable organizations that are addressing the world’s Global Giants: Extreme Poverty, Pandemic Disease, Crippling Illiteracy and Spiritual Emptiness. As Cynthia’s business grows, her ability to increase charitable contributions and programs will flourish. She hopes that others might be inspired to follow in her footsteps by using their God given talents to make a difference.
